The national health service of Britain has not revealed what drug was used to treat Boris Johnson

The American government has embarked on an effort to find the vaccine for the curing the corona virus. In an operation which they have codenamed ‘warp speed’; they have tasked the scientists to invest their time and energies in getting the covid19 vaccine as earliest as possible.

This on top of the fact that they have tried a drug called Remedsvil which was first launched to fight Ebola with very little success.

This Remedsvil is an antiviral drug which, the scientists believe, has got a significant effect on shortening the recovery process of covid19 patients.

The confusing and rather frustrating aspect of all this is that the health experts revealed that the vaccine is most likely to be discovered in around in 18 months from now. This mathematically puts the expected date of having the vaccine on October 2021!

HOW DO COVID19 PATIENTS RECOVER?

As scientists struggle to find the vaccine, the figures show that the number of people recovering from the corona virus has surpassed the number of fatalities by a huge margin.  Nobody is interrogating how or why many people have recovered from the corona virus even when there is no vaccine.

 Nobody is interrogating why several high profile people who have been infected with the covid19 have all recovered. For instance the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was recently discharged from hospital and was welcomed at plot 10 by his wife with a bouncing baby boy. The national health service of Britain has not revealed what drug was used to treat Boris Johnson.

In Uganda over several patients have recovered from the corona virus but their recovery process is shrouded in mystery.

  The Ugandan health officials’ claim that they have used a drug called hydrooxychloroquin and ethromycin. They have gone on to assert that those drugs were used as immune boosters and not necessarily for total cure.

In many quarters, Uganda’s treatment process has been termed as a mere placebo.

The Placebo Conundrum

A placebo is a pseudo drug meant to psychologically motivate the patient to feel confident that s/he is getting real treatment but yet the drug lacks the chemical ingredients of a real drug. It is packaged like a drug but without the efficacy of a real drug. In other-words it has no therapetuci value.

A question arises from this scenario thus; if covid19 patients have healed by using a placebo, then why is it difficult to find the real vaccine?

The answer to that lies in the fact that the scientist have for many years failed to find direct vaccines that can deal with respiratory diseases.

Respiratory diseases like tuberculosis, SARS have all come and wrecked havoc but no direct vaccine has been found as yet.

Even this common flu has been treated by use of smootheners and immunity boasters and not necessarily a direct vaccine.

How Does Corona Virus Manifest Itself

Come to think of this; lets apply some common sense and look at how this corona virus manifests itself. That will be the basis for finding its vaccine.

Some of the earlier symptoms of covid19 include high temperature beyond 38 degrees.  If that is one of the first signs then you obviously look at drugs that come bring down the temperature. This means that you can adopt drugs that bring down malaria fever.

I think this is the first line of action that has been taken by the Uganda medics. That’s why they have used a drug that has an element of chloroquin a, which is known drug for treating malaria. The problem, however is that we have for a longtime known chloroquin to have very terrible side effects.

When we were growing up we used to hear cases of children who became deaf or blind because they had taken chloroquin.

This clearly shows that chloroquin itself is a very powerful drug. In fact it has been ostracized and no longer in use in most health centers.

ENTER REMEDSVILL

Now Remedsvil an antiviral drug is being mooted as the possible cure for covid19 is said t have been designed to fight Ebola.

Evidence clearly shows that it failed in that assignment of fighting Ebola. Why did it fail in the first place?

But a fundamental question then arises; how did Ebola vanish when there was no vaccine found to heal it? Did it evaporate on its own without the aid of a vaccine?

The fact that Ebola killed very many people but at the same time simply vanished simply means that some epidemics come, wreck havoc and go, vaccine or no vaccine.

In fact it’s important for the world to know that much as Ebola was an instant killer disease, it was NOT fought by employing devastating means like lockdowns.

Time prevailed on some of those epidemics.

COVID19 IS PREDICTABLE

And the observed fact is that this corona virus is even much more predictable than most epidemics that the world has seen, NOTWITHSTANDING its sporadic quick spreading capacity.

This covid19 is predictable because it has showed the trend of attacking and eventually killing elderly people and sickly people mostly in Asia, Europe and America. Ebola was more menacing because it killed indiscriminately irrespective of age from Africa. No explanation has even been given as to why Ebola confined itself in Africa alone. Why did Ebola fail to penetrate Europe, Asia and America?

This shows how much sleep the science community has embarked on

If Ebola was to be fought using lockdown, it’s highly unlikely that Europe, Asia and America which were not affected at all would have shutdown their economies.

The conclusion

While the world is keen on finding the vaccine for the covid19, we need to interrogate why other epidemics like Ebola emerged, and vanished without a known vaccine. The same might be the case with covid19.

Yes, there is a good chance that the corona virus might vanish without a vaccine.

UGANDA MIGHT REMAIN IN LOCK-DOWN UNTIL OCTOBER 2021; President Museveni Is Determined Not To Lift Restrictions Unless Vaccine Is Found For The Corona Virus

On Tuesday 28^th April 2020 President Yoweri  Museveni addressed the nation about the progress of the fight against the corona virus. It was his 22^nd time he had addressed the country (in less than a month) in regard to the fight against the pandemic.

In the last 21 times he has spoken to the country there has not been anything tangibly new. He has always spoken the same things, repeated the same narrative (advising Ugandans about washing hands, not touching their faces etc) and left Ugandans wondering what direction the country is taking in the fight against the pandemic.

This time round, Ugandans expected his 22^nd speech to focus on the road map for easing the restrictions and eventual removal of the lock-down. It was supposed to be a message of hope.  

Given the horrendous suffering Ugandans have gone through due to the locking of the economy, they expected their president to announce some respite measures that would ease their plight.

The Facts And Figures

This optimism was derived from the fact that the figures and facts in regard to the pandemic were encouraging. Out of the 79 covid19 cases, 14 cases are still infected, 55 recoveries and most importantly there Is NO single death of a single Ugandan to covid19.

This should be good news to any leader by any means. But wait a minute!

The Uganda president had different ideas on his mind.

The fact that no single covid19 death has been registered in Uganda seems to have disappointed president Museveni so much he even suggested that perhaps there are some people who have died of the virus but it (the death) has always been attributed to other causes!.

He said that perhaps people might be dying of the virus but are misdiagnosed. He even ordered for an autopsy on people who are dying these days to establish the real cause of death.

In other words, he is not yet convinced that most people dying in Uganda are not perishing at the hands of covid19.

THE SADISTIC STANCE

In another twist, he made statement that really shocked Ugandans when he said that he loves this corona virus!. How can you love a disease?

 Prior to that sadistic statement he had mentioned that by imposing the lock-down he was ‘trying to discipline these Indisciplined Africans’. What do you make of a leader who openly admits that he is punishing his countrymen?

To cap it all, in yesterday’s speech; he said that he will certainly NOT lift the lock-down unless the vaccine is found!.

And that is certainly not good news for Ugandans given the fact that the health experts have already revealed that the earliest the vaccine will be found will be 18 months away from now.  And that is roughly October 2021! 

Even then, the scientists are simply speculating because they are not sure whether they will indeed have found the vaccine by that time.  It means that going by his statements, Uganda might remain in lock-down for a very long time regardless of whether it has covid19 fatalities or NOT.

While countries like Spain, Italy, USA, china and other countries deeply afflicted by the corona virus are opening up and easing restrictions, the Ugandan leader is still adamant about sustaining the lock-down.

This alone is a cause for worry amongst Ugandans.

The bad Spirit

We have written several times on this blog that Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni’s covid19 fight is not being done in good faith.

 He seems to have an agenda which is only known to him alone.

We can probably speculate that probably he is trying to find out which part of the country can stand up against his provocative actions. 

Some legal experts have already intimated that the Ugandan leader’s actions are mostly illegal and unconstitutional.

The president is operating as if the country is in a state of emergency.  According to the Ugandan constitution the president cannot declare a state of emergency without the consent of parliament.

According to the law president Museveni’s covid19 pronouncements were made unilaterally without the consent of parliament. Most importantly they were not in tandem with the law. What does this mean?

It means that those people who were arrested for defying presidential orders o covid19 have NO case to answer.

Once their case gets into motion, it will be a walk in park for the accused Ugandans who defied the curfew and other corona virus related presidential orders.

The way forward

The Ugandan president does not work alone. He obviously needs to heed to the voice of reason and listen to cabinet, parliament and other stakeholders agitating for the lifting of the lock-down.

Most importantly, the Ugandan president needs to make decisions depending on the prevailing circumstances on the ground. He needs to derive his actions from what is happening in the Uganda and not depend on what is happening in Spain or Italy.

And the reality in the country is that Right now is that we have zero covid19 fatalities to warrant a continued lock-down, vaccine or no vaccine. 

The covid19 facts and figures simply indicate that the restrictions are totally uncalled for. If a country like America which has lost more than 55,000 people is easing the restrictions, why should a country like Uganda which has lost no single person insist on a lockdown?

President Museveni Must Relax The Restrictions;  FASTING MUSLIMS CANNOT CONVENIENTLY ADHERE TO THE 7 PM CURFEW

•      Bookshops and Libraries are more than needed during this time of self isolation
•         How can you allow two people to move on a bicycle and forbid one person from jogging?
• 3.     Businesses that can observe social distancing like saloons, internet cafes should be opened
• 4.     Muslims cannot fast conveniently when there is a 7pm curfew

After enduring 29 days in a sustained 36 Day lock-down that has confined Ugandans in their homes, it’s fair to ask for a relaxation in the restrictions.

At the time of writing this article   on Tuesday, 28th APRIL 2020, (3pm) the Ugandan covid-19 cases were still at; 79 infected, 44 recovered and zero deaths.

Now by all accounts these figures prove that this is a safe bill of health.

There Are No Ugandan Solutions To Ugandan Challenges

I bet my balls on the fact that if these covid-19 figures were from ac country like the United States of America, or any European country, there would be NO lock-down imposed on those respective countries at all. Instead you would see precautionary measures set in progress to deter any possible emergence of the corona virus.

But since we are in a banana republic our government crops polices from the west and imposes them on their citizens without regard to circumstances on the ground. The philosophy of advancing our own solutions to our own challenges is only in theory but not in practice.

Now president Museveni , who is the biggest proponent of the lock-down could somehow justify the lock-down three weeks before, but cannot justify the continued lockdown now.

Why?

Because the figures have proved that we are relatively safe.

Although our neighbors of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Sudan and Congo are in relative danger of high covid-19 cases, we have the bragging rights of safety. We need to simply guard our borders to keep infections at bay.

But once again the Ugandan government which is dying to claim credit for fighting the epidemic is the same that committed the very first mistake of failing to close Entebbe airport and all borders to stop the corona virus from entering Uganda.

Evidence shows that 85% of the Uganda covid19cases were all imported cases from abroad. If the NRM government had closed Entebbe airport in time, there would never have been corona virus in Uganda.

Similarly, If there was absolute vigilance at all borders of the country there should never have been covid19 cases infiltration through the Ugandan borders.

But in April alone the porous borders meant that the covid19 cases jumped from 55 to 77 within a very short time (of less than seven days) because of the truck drivers that had entered through the various Uganda border points.

What does all this mean?

It means, we as indigenous Ugandans are still free from the corona virus. What is the implication of this?

The implication of this is that we can observe the social-distance rules and keep the corona virus at bay even when there is no lock-down. Alternatively we can still manage to open up as long as massive congestion of the population is forbidden completely.

The Situation Report

As you read this the Ugandan Muslim fraternity is undergoing a fasting period. The fasting itself starts at 6am and ends at 7pm. At the same time these fasting Muslims have to grapple with the 7pm curfew.

The reality is that these Muslims have to move around at 7pm to end the fast of the day. Some of them still have to walk to have a family setting for observing the need of the fast.

Even if they are don’t do it at the mosques, they still have to move around for the endless logistics of the fast which stretches beyond 9pm.

Basing on all this any sensible person can therefore not justify the continued curfew beyond 7pm.

Some Businesses Can Observe Social Distance

There are also other business which were abruptly closed in a bid to fight the covid19. Most of these businesses don’t congest people. Yet the spirit of the business closure was done to avoid congesting many people in one place to avoid person to person contact.

 For instance the lodging or accommodation sector shouldn’t have been closed because it provides timely service for people who have been caught by the 7pm curfew.

For instance if someone has moved to a given place and is caught by the curfew, his only option is to spend the rest of the night in the lodge in respect of the stated curfew. But closing lodges and at the same time requiring someone to respect the 7pm curfew is a massive miscalculation

The president should therefore consider relaxing the restriction on lodges.

SALOONS

When you move around Kampala today you will realize that most men have grown bushy beards! All this is because the saloons business was closed to stop spreading the corona virus.

But logically speaking, how many people can a saloon accommodate in a given time?

Even if you put a standing order compelling saloons to have one person at a time, it can easily be implemented.

Therefore the president needs to relax restrictions on saloons basing on the fact that is one of the business entities that can operate without attracting large number of people.

THE INTERNET CAFES

Another business that can easily observe social distance is the internet cafes.

These ones were summarily closed together with other businesses that don’t provide necessary basic services.

Evidence shows that it was NOT a good idea that internet providers were closed because they were the last working stations that people could resort to without trekking to offices during this quarantine.

As a matter of fact, the internet cafes are some of the other businesses that can easily observe social distance rules to their utmost expectations. Most of the journalists who don’t have modems can easily operate using internet cafes to file stories.

One would logically expect the president to relax restrictions on these internet providers.

Bookshops and libraries

For instance why close bookshops when you know that they can easily allow one person to enter at a given time to pick a book.

These books can be a very god source of intellectual nutrition during this dark period of self isolation. Besides the intellectual value, It must be accepted that during this time of the quarantine, the books are a good source for passing time. Why close them?

By the way a confined person needs books more than any other because of the time and privacy he enjoys at the time.

For instance great men like Malcolm X were intellectually transformed when they interfaced with books during their time in prison.

Therefore it was really irrational to close bookshops and libraries during this period of self isolation. 

Jogging

Some health experts assert that the corona virus could be averted by those who do consistent exercises. President Museveni himself actually reiterated the same point by stressing that doing exercise was a good remedy in the fight against covid19.

But paradoxically, the same president Museveni went on to ban jogging? Oh dear me!  Now Ugandans have been undergoing the terrible punishment of staying idle without any exercise at all.

Now, if you allow two people to move on the bicycle riders to move freely, why stop one person from jogging?

CONCLUSION

Well, as stated earlier most of these decisions were not well thought out and need to be lifted as soon as possible. In a bid to enforce the lock-down to its utmost, the Ugandan president lampooned all businesses together without considering whether some of them could continue operating by observing the social distance rules or not.

This means that his team did not make enough homework on which business to close and which one to spare the restrictions.

Otherwise the figures and facts simply show that the continued lock-down I its complete form is totally unjustified. A partial lock-down can be put in place to safe guard or avert covid-19 from spreading the country.

In any case countries like china, Spain, Italy, Germany, France and USA which were badly hit by the corona virus have started to open up. Why should Uganda which has not lost a single person continue in a complete lock-down?

Ever since (late 2019) the world was attacked by the menacing covid-9 virus, there have been divergent views about what should have been done to contain it.

Some of us who are vividly opposed the complete lock-downs have researched about previous pandemics which have similar contagious tendencies to the corona virus and found that the 21^st century is suffering from an information deficit especially in the field of medicine.

Some centuries ago the world was hit by various pandemics including polio , influenza , small pox , measles , malaria etal at different times but the scientists of the time managed come up with vaccines that healed those epidemics.

But in the last 30 years the world has been hit by the aids virus, the Ebola virus, tuberculosis, the Zika virus and SARS, but NO direct vaccine has been found for those pandemics.

Mankind has only been lucky that those pandemics have emerged, killed some and simply evaporated without being medically defeated.

In fact there are popular allegations that even the vaccine that treats normal flu has not yet been found.  The only treatment for flu is done through immunity boosting drugs and not a direct vaccine.

It’s also said that the only available vaccine against tuberculosis dates to the early 20th century. But although it is generally safe, its efficacy is limited and it does not provide complete protection.

Today we are seeing the same ‘placebo’ approach has been used against the corona virus with some degree of success.

THE UGANDAN MEDICS

The Ugandan medics have treated patients of the covid-19 by using a combination of hdrooxychloroquine , ethromycine and an addition of some vitamin D and C boosters.

This drug combination has however been downplayed by experts who consider it to be a mere placebo. A placebo is something administered as a drug to console the patient that s/he has been treated with a drug yet it has no medicinal value. It only plays a psychological role.

This shows that the direct vaccine that heals covid-19 shouldn’t be faraway form being discovered.   It seems the advent of internet where information is stored has impeded new health innovations.  Instead of coming up with new innovations our scientists simply goggle for answers for health challenges from the internet. And that is the tragedy faced by the 21^st century.

 In fact there are suggestions that SARs (severe respiratory syndrome) that rocked the world in 2003 was fought using 19^th century methods!

This explains why they are now speculating that the world will have to wait for another 18 months before they come up with a vaccine.  You should be afraid enough NOT to expect the vaccine for much longer than that!

They (21^st century health experts and researchers) are busy peddling scares about the possible emergence of a second round of the corona virus asserting that the second round of covid-19 is likely to emerge from Africa. Now what is the basis for this sort of scaremongering?

Is it researched or a scientific finding? 

My view is that these speculators want to convince African governments to extend the lockdown so that African economies can collapse together with the rest of the world that has suffered from the covid-19.

Yet it would have helped if they had concentrated their energies in finding a permanent cure for the corona virus by interrogating the following facts;

1.     WHY NOT QUARANTINE animals

To fight a disease, you need to know its source. And for that matter the medics have come up with a unanimous view that the corona virus was caused by animals and passed on to humans.

But it’s disturbing enough to note that covid-19 broke out, there was no action taken on the animals. The animals which are known to have been the source have neither been isolated nor quarantined to stop them from passing on the virus to the human beings.

Is it negligence, mere oversight or lack of proper evidence from the science community?

Yet when SARS broke out in 2003, the Chinese slaughtered all the pigs that were recognized as the source of the virus. That is an indictment on the WHO community that designed measures for combating covid-19.

2.     Do Africans have stronger covid-19 resistant immunity?

One of the observed facts is that Africans seem to have stronger immunity that can resist the succumbing to corona virus and respiratory diseases in general. That why there was no serious cases of ZIKA virus, SARS on the African continent.  Even the corona virus has failed to have the same impact that it has had in America, Europe and Asia.

Although it’s not a scientific finding, its being deduced from the fatality figures around the world that the black Africans have suffered fewer fatalities than any other race in the world.

There are many countries where corona virus patients from the black race have healed than perished to covid-19.

For instance in Namibia has got 66 patients but none of them has died as yet (by the time of writing this article on the 26^st April 2020)

Uganda which registered 55 covid-19 cases has NOT lost a single person but instead registered quite a number of them who have recovered.

Yet you had cases where 900 Americans perished in just 24 hours!

This is an obvious fact that can help the scientists to interrogate why this is so in the black African community and NOT the case in the Caucasian and Asian communities.

3.     The age pattern element

According to figures, more elderly people have perished at the hands of the corona virus than younger people. This shows that the virus attacks soft vulnerable old people.

What does this mean? There is a stronger possibility that if older people had been systematically quarantined, it would have saved some lives.\

By employing a selective approach of confining older people, it would have been a more sensible approach than a complete lockdown.  But the indiscriminate confining of people in their houses might have had a more devastating effect than the virus itself.

4.     Why are Wealthy people not dying 

Some of the most influential people to have been affected by the corona virus include, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, prince Charles of the united kingdom, Arsenal football manager Mikel Arteta, Belgian soccer player Maroune Fellaini, Chelsea football star Calum Hudson Odoi. Etc. 

It’s interesting to note that none of those influential people have died of the corona virus. in fact British premier Boris Johnson has fully recovered and resumed work at his work station.

Should we therefore safely conclude that the corona virus selectively spares wealthy people?

Scientists should interrogate why all these wealthy people have recovered from the corona virus while the rest of society is perishing. Is there a correlation between covid-19 fatality and poverty?

The answer is probably yes, because wealthy people tend to have got the necessary diet that has required immunity to resist covid-19  

Of course where some famous people have died, you find that they were of advanced age (mostly above 60).

5.     Climate/Weather pattern

Another interesting much talked about pattern that can help the science community concerns the observed fact that the covid-19 virus doesn’t seem to thrive in hotter climates.

Since the virus broke out in late 2019, the trend has seen more fatalities in countries with colder climates than those with hotter climates.

 At the same time African countries with tropical climates don’t seem so much bothered. It’s believed that the corona virus cannot thrive in temperatures above 26 degrees Celicious.

This logically means that countries like Uganda which rotate in temperatures above 26 degrees Celicious can survive covid-19 without enforcing a complete lockdown.

This also shows that the criteria for enforcing lockdown should have varied from country to country.

6.     The Vitamin D element

According to scientific findings, the human body needs vitamin D and C to boost its immunity.  This vitamin D is derived from the human interaction with the sunshine. Now if the country undergoes a winter season, its citizens are automatically deprived of that crucial vitamin D because there Is NOT enough sunshine to provide it.

Since the human body thrives by picking vitamin D from the sunshine, it’s more of a logical conclusion that the virus can be more menacing during winter.

So it goes without need of emphasis that the African weather which is assured of enough sunshine is in a more enviable position of not being a victim of the corona virus.

7; substandard covid-19 testing kits

There are reports that some covid-19 testing kits are not reliable. This has been reported in India, china and some parts of Africa. If the testing kits are not reliable, why should the figures of infections and fatalities be relied upon?

If it’s true that the testing kits are fake, as widely reported, then there is a possibility that some of the figures have been exaggerated. And the exaggeration can either be upwards or downwards in terms of figures, depending on the interests of the leaders of a given country.

Conclusion

All these observed facts show that some African countries with a fair practical advantage over corona virus shouldn’t have embarked on complete lockdown.

In fact the world needs to investigate some African leaders who enforced very harsh restrictions even when the virus had not had any practical impact on the population. There is a possibility that these leaders were not operating in good faith.

But most importantly the science community should be condemned for failing to live to expectations. Why should the world wait for 18 months for the vaccine?  

If the covid-19 vaccine is not found in 18 months, does it mean we will continue with the lockdown beyond that period?

This week German radio Deutshwelle managed to post a question on their social media page about Tanzania president john Pombe Magufuli’s suggestion that African herbalists can help find the cure for covid-19.

Although most of the respondents were skeptical about the possibility of an African solution to the cure of covid-16 , there is a lot of evidence to show that its highly possible for African herbalists to play a role not only in the fight but in finding a cure for covid-19.

This is mostly premised on the fact that before the advent of European exploration of the African continent, there were health innovations started by the Africans themselves.

Despite of the fact that the Europeans considered Africa to be a dark continent, the Africans had a thriving and effective world of medicine that cured their diseases.

The African herbalists managed to deal with minor and major medical cases including child birth, surgery and healing of chronic diseases.

In fact it would be foolhardy to say that medicine was first introduced to Africa by the Whiteman. African herbalists extracted medicine from roots, leaves and stems of trees. They also managed to extract medicine from soil.

In fact pregnant women were easily managed using those soil extracts. This guaranteed safe birth for African women.

This safe birth was the reason why the Whiteman found a fairly large population on the African continent. This large population was the reason why the western power managed to find a big hunting ground for slaves.

This was because the African herbalists had managed to contain the infant mortality rate to manageable levels.

African medicine worked so well that it contained very dangerous epidemics like fever and malaria which blossomed in African forests.  The problem was that when the European eventually managed to conquer the continent , they refused to recognize African medicine.

Why African Population Grew Despite Of Slave Trade And Tribal Wars

When you look around you find that the red Indians failed to grow their population because they were relatively poor in the field of medicine.

That’s why they easily perished and surrendered America to the Europeans.

The same case is applicable to the aborigines of Australia.

Some historians claim that the red Indians and aborigines perished because of the advanced military might of the Europeans. Although that is partly true, it’s just part of the story.

The red Indians and the aborigines were never subjected to slave trade. This means that their population should have grown in massive numbers. How come they are almost extinct today?

Many African societies that have faced military confrontations have blossomed after defeat. Most African tribes were poached for slaves to very small numbers but the sustained growth in population.

In addition to that, African tribes were almost engaged in tribal wars almost all the time. These wars like the Shaka-Zulu wars, the Buganda-Bunyoro war, the Shona-Ndebele wars , to mention but a few, claimed so many lives of the Africans.

You can also add the effect of the colonial wars of conquest that the Europeans imposed on the Africans which also claimed many lives.

In fact history tells us that the imperialists had tried but failed to penetrate the African continent because of the various diseases that hindered their penetration of the African jungles. The mosquito alone was a big source of danger to the Europeans.

They had to first find a vaccine for malaria to explore the African continent.

But there are no cases of a single African tribe that perished completely on account of the malaria and diseases together with the tribal wars or slave trade. Instead the Africans regained their footing form the challenges of the 18^th century and have thrived into the 21^st century.

This growth of the African population despite the adversities of slave trade, tribal wars and various diseases is certainly attributed to the unique and more organized African herbal medicine.    

The Defeat Of African Herbal Medicine

But it’s important to note that African herbal medicine was defeated when the colonialists emerged and confused it with African witchcraft.  To date most educated Africans with Eurocentric tendencies think that African herbal medicine is equal to witchcraft because they were conditioned to think like that by the Europeans.

When you look at the medical challenges of the 21^st century, you realize that the modern scientists have failed to live to their expectations.

Up to now the modern scientists have not found the vaccine for the Zika virus, the SARS virus, and the corona virus which has decimated large numbers of mankind.

They are busy speculating that the vaccine (of covid-19 ) will be found 18 months from now.  This simply means that the earliest we can expect the vaccine for the corona virus is 2022.

Should we wait up to that time or give unconventional medical outlets a chance?

Certainly NOT, we shouldn’t wait for the vaccine from the European scientists we should embrace President Pombe Magufuli’s idea that we try African herbal medicine. His suggestion is as timely as an idea whose time has come.

As stated earlier, African herbalists have treated more devastating diseases. They have overcome epidemics before.

When you look at the corona virus, it’s not as sophisticated as, let say, malaria, that has killed mankind for years. Malaria continuously kills more people around the world than this covid-19. 

 Yet African herbalists have a herbal solution for malaria.

  If they could find a remedy for medical toughies how can they fail to find a vaccine for a respiratory disease like covid-19?

Let’s give the African herbalists a chance to fight covid019.

  Indian prime minister Narendra Modi might face a backlash from the 1.3 billion people he has confined in their homes

By the time of writing this article (17^th March 2020) the countries that had embarked on a very strict lockdown regime had lost more people than those with lesser restrictions

Spain, Italy and the United States have lost more people than Brazil, Nicaragua, Belarus, and Sweden which have no restrictions at all. 

What does this mean?

This simply means that lockdown or no lockdown the covid-19 can still spread and decimate the population. 

This fact is also an indictment on the world health organization and its experts who failed to find appropriate measures to curb the covid-19 epidemic.  Some of us actually agree with the American president Donald Trump’s views that the WHO should have acted much earlier than they did to stop the pandemic. 

The question which will forever torment the WHO is ‘How could a disease break out in November 2019 be identified as a global threat in February 2020?’

If the WHO had acted in, let’s say, December, then the appropriate action should have been to isolate china from the rest of the world.  It would have saved the hundreds of people who have perished around the world.

The young Chinese man who first reported about the emergence of the virus in November was arrested and reprimanded by the Chinese authorities and warned not to make what they termed as ‘unnecessary alarm’.

In February 2020, the corona virus claimed the life of this vigilant 33 year old Chinese whistle blower. This means that the Chinese government in probable connivance with WHO played politics with the corona virus by concealing the truth about its emergence.

This conspiracy also explains why any talk or divergent opinion about the virus has been criminalized in most countries. Yet a solution can be got from those divergent opinions, notwithstanding whether they are scientifically based or simply observed opinions (like this one)

Therefore president Trump is right on condemning and reprimanding the WHO, but it’s not a good idea that he stops funding it. 

Is The lockdown effective

As stated at the beginning of this article the massive shutdowns around the world don’t seem to have the desired effect. According to the evidence got from figures of deaths and infections in most of the countries that have been hit hard by the virus, more people have died during the lockdown than when opened up.

An observed fact is that this virus can be fought without a lockdown. By simply observing social distance and testing at all airports, strict hygiene etc, the virus can be contained.

In fact the Chinese government was fast enough to realize that the lockdown was not a solution to the corona virus and opened up.  Wuhan where the virus was first experienced has now been open for several weeks but the rate of infections and deaths have not increased at all.

Yet when Wuhan was having a lockdown hundreds of Chinese people perished. The South Korean government was also quick to realize and opened the transport system by allowing the trains, taxis and metros to move freely despite of the fact that it shares borders with china.

 In fact I hold a strong view (and time will absolve me) that the world health organization might have misled the world by recommending the lockdown as a weapon to fight the covid-19.

Last week American president Donald Trump openly disagreed with the health experts who were coming up with all sorts of crazy recommendations. The American president openly told the journalists that he would NOT put on the mandatory face mask.

Dictatorships Have Unleashed Terror

The corona virus has exposed the dictatorial regimes in terms of how they have applied the restrictions and the lockdown.

Many of them have used the corona virus as an excuse to torture the population with very harsh restrictions.  Countries that have not lost a single person to covid-19 have embarked on a ruthless lockdown putting the livelihood of the citizens on line. 

On 14^th march 2020 the Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni made a speech where he revealed that he knows that the Uganda’s tropical climate cannot allow the virus to blossom the way it does in temperate climate. He also said that he is convinced that Uganda cannot be overwhelmed by the corona virus but at the same time insisted that he has enforced the lock-down to discipline Ugandans a lesson! 

''am not fighting corona virus but fighting indiscipline of the Africans'' he sarcastically stated

The same President Museveni  also told Ugandans that exercising can avert the corona virus , but he at the same time stopped Ugandans from jogging.! What a contradiction!

although most ugandans are facing starvation arising from the shutdown , the Ugandan leader stoped any ugandan from distributing food to the vulnerable people.

he promised to charge anyone helping poor starving Ugandans with attempted murder.  

its important to note the food that the NRM government has distributed has been found to be substandard. there are reports that the beans distributed were found to be rotten

All this has left Ugandans without a doubt that the Ugandan president is not acting in good faith.

Although Uganda has not lost a single person to the virus, the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has unleashed the military to enforce a complete shutdown up to 5^th may 2020. Yet countries that have been hard hit are already opening up.

Uganda has recorded around 55 cases (BUT NO DEATHS) of the covid-19. It’s imperative to note that almost all the cases have been imported from abroad.  If the Ugandan leader was very alert like he is trying to portray himself, he should have closed Entebbe airport to stop the importation of the virus.

But he embarked on a shutdown first before he closed the airport.

 

But the good news is that some of the infected Ugandans who had been quarantined have healed from the corona virus. This exposes president Museveni’s prolonged lock-down as a malicious act.

If the NRM government was acting basing on the Ugandan circumstance, then it would have enforced a partial shutdown and not a complete lock-down.

It also means that if the Ugandan government had closed the borders and airport in time, there would NEVER have been any corona virus in the country.

Approach By Humane Governments

On the contrary some governments have not made alarming restrictions.  The governments of Belarus, Nicaragua, Sweden and Brazil have all refused to embark on the lock-down.

The Brazilian president Brosonero who has openly defied the covd-19 experts and reasoned that people have to get to work, covid-19 or not

The Tanzanian president john Pombe Magufuli actually refused to order a lockdown even when his country has registered some cases of the virus.  He reasoned that the lockdown might have more long-term devastating socioeconomic effects than the covid-19.

At the same some malicious leaders like the Indian leader Narendra Modi have extended the period of the lockdown for another month, putting the lives of his people at total risk of starvation.

With time it’s safe to speculate that the lock-down might kill more people than the corona virus.

Spain which has registered more deaths than India has relaxed the restrictions and allowed people to get to work. 

Germany chancellor Angela Markel has already made contingent plans for opening up and allowed students to do exams.

This demonstrates the fact that the complete shutdown of the economies of the world is completely unjustified.

Alternative measures

Bearing all this in mind, it will not be surprising if people pour on the streets in protest about the prolonged lock-down. There is a high chance that some governments might fall during this covid-19 pandemic.

We have already seen such a uprising in the state of Michigan where people have opposed the lock-down.

 It’s safe to predict that countries like India where Narendra Modi has prolonged lock-down for   might get an uprising from the Indian people. This is based on the fact that it quite a task to confine 1.3 billions people in thier homes without food and other essentials in life.

It’s probable that the Indian people will rise and kick him out of power.  

And you cannot rule out the domino effect that the uprising will have in hugely populated countries like Nigeria, India and most of the African countries with crude dictatorships.

According to the scientists, the vaccine that could heal the corona virus will arrive in 18 months from now. So does this mean that countries will be in lockdown for another 18 months?

The way forward

Governments must not simply enforce lockdown without basing on their circumstances. Why should a country shutdown when it has no single death to corona virus.

Partial lockdowns should be applied together with social distancing measures. Otherwise one cannot rule out the possibility that as the lockdown continues to takes its toll, people will run out of patience and overthrow their governments.

OBSERVED FACTS

• ·         Although scientists have come up with alarming facts about the corona virus, it has become clear that they are not well versed with all the facts concerning the corona virus.

• ·         There is an observed fact (not a scientific one) that the virus thrives in temperate climates of Europe, Asia and the Americas which experience vey cold winters than the HOT tropical climates. This explains why Africa and South America have not experienced large number of deaths.

• ·         There is a trend showing that the virus can thrive with or without lock-down. For instance Spain, Italy and the USA have suffered more deaths even when they are under lock-down than when open. This shows that the virus is selective in its choice of target.

• ·       
    Some people who have contracted the virus have healed even when there is no known vaccine to treat it. This means that although it’s extremely dangerous, a percentage of people can survive it even when they have contracted it.  Like all the other epidemics, the corona virus will kill some and leave some, vaccine or no vaccine , lock-down or no lock-down.
