ITS ONE THING HAVING RISING NUMBER OF INFECTIONS, IT’S ANOTHER HAVING DEATHS TO COVID-19; Third World Countries Like Uganda Have Got No Social Structure To Handle Challenges Associated With Lock-Down

ITS ONE THING HAVING RISING NUMBER OF INFECTIONS, IT’S ANOTHER HAVING DEATHS TO COVID-19; Third World Countries Like Uganda Have Got No Social Structure To Handle Challenges Associated With Lock-Down

There are believable reports that the entire cabinet of the government of southern Sudan including vice president Riak Machar have all tested positive to the corona virus.
According to the world media, the entire covid-19 taskforce of the juba authorities, with the single exception of the health minister, have been infected with the pandemic.
It’s obvious that the covid19 pandemic has indeed taken its toll on humanity all over the world.

Lets Interrogate The Exaggerations
But it’s also a fact that the extent of its devastation has been blown out of proportion. We need to interrogate whether the health measures which WHO instituted were well informed or out of panic. There is overwhelming evidence which attests to the fact that some measures were not well thought out.

While there are alarming levels of infections, the deaths are relatively not that alarming. Its one thing having people testing positive to covid-19 and it’s completely a different story having them die of the same.
We should debate along those lines. For instance while America has lost over 100,000 people to covid-19, Uganda has lost none!
Uganda is, however, eager to pose as an endangered country by virtue of the 212 people who have tested positive to covid-19 with 68 people who have recovered and zero deaths.
Why should Ugandan adopt the same measures like America?
These are two different dimensions which we should interrogate accordingly.
But let’s talk logically.
If so many people are getting infected, how many are recovering?
Globally 5.43m people have been infected, 2.18 have recovered while 0.345 thousand people have perished.
If you factor in the number of a little more than a quarter a million people out of the global population of 7.8 billion people, you simply realize that the figures and stats are entirely not in favor of sacrificing the global economy in the name of fighting a pandemic.  There was NO need to enforce the lock-down to fight covid19 whatsoever.

Now if the number of people recovering is far bigger than those perishing then we should be having a different narrative. We should be employing a strategy that is not as panic-driven as the one which was designed by the world health organization that obliterated the world economy.
If people are recovering even before a vaccine is found then we should be confident that covid19 can be contained without sacrificing the livelihoods with a lock-down.

WE CAN LIVE WITH COVID19
We should be honest and concede that mankind can live side by side with the corona virus, like we have done with the previous pandemics which have had a devastating effect on the world.
As we speak now, there is no direct vaccine for the Ebola virus, the aids pandemic, SARS and the ZIKA virus. But those pandemics have somehow evaporated.
We are almost certain that the vaccine for the corona virus will not be found in the near future. There is a very good chance that it might simply evaporate on its own without the healing powers of a vaccine or health guidelines that were issued by the inept world health organization.
And the narrative now is that ’its one thing registering a big number of people infected with covid-19, and it’s another thing altogether to have people perishing to covid-19.

THE IMPLICATIONS

The implication is that we should base our decisions in the fight against tcovid19 more on the number of deaths than on the number of infections.
Because if we base on the number of infections to institute tough measures we shall be missing the whole point.

Experience has so far proved that most African countries took the drastic measures to enforce the lock-down before they even knew what the whole fracas was all about.
They based on scanty information from WHO to force their citizens into self isolation even when it’s clear that they (most African countries) don’t have the necessary social economic structures to shutdown their economies.
As time goes by, the world will come to realize that the lock-down was one of the most idiotic measures ever undertaken in the fight of the corona virus.
The Ugandan government, for instance caged people in a complete lockdown in the entire country for more than two months but failed to feed even one percent of the population.
When the population cried out, the government dispatched food, in the form of rotten beans full of stones and poor quality posho which they tried to serve in just two towns of Kampala and wakiso.
They Ugandan government has even failed to those two respective districts. It’s a shame of the highest proportions.
This is where the world health organization carries a bigger blame coz they were the authors of that lock-down idea as a one of the guidelines to stop the spread of covid-19.

Once dictatorships got the WHO instructions they used them as a weapon to suppress and subjugate their people and as an opportunity to demonstrate power.
They confined people in their homes without food for more than sixty days. And when they delivered the rotten food, it was not sufficient enough to cover that period of the quarantine.

THE CONDEMNATIONS

The world should condemn these inhuman acts that have been done in the guise of fighting covid-19 by some demonic African governments.
Although these governments couldn’t feed their citizens, they also made it a criminal offence for anyone to volunteer assistance to the suffering people in the form of food grants.
If you cannot feed your people, why don’t you allow them to get the assistance from other sources?
In Uganda, one Member of Parliament called Hon Francis Zaake tried to help out his people by distributing some food items, but he was arrested and tortured to near death by the Ugandan police.
The police was acting on the orders of president Museveni who had instructed the immediate arrest anyone found distributing food, citing attempted murder as the charge that would be used against the volunteer.

The Ugandan government has so far collected over shs40bn from wiling citizens as donation fund to fight covid19, but there is little chance that it will be accounted for.
The health care system is in shambles but government has got no single idea of revamping it using those newly generated resources.

PRECEDENCE
Yet there are plenty of case studies to learn from in other countries. For instance in china, when covid19 broke out, the Chinese government managed to build a make shift hospital in just two months!
Okay, you can claim that china is a first world country that can afford such an indulgence.
But look at Kenya; they have made a big investment in the health sector by increasing the number of beds in all hospitals around the country. They have revamped the staff of hospital workers by recruiting new personnel in almost all hospitals around the country.

The Kenyan government has even made an economic stimulus package that will see Kenyan youth receive cash handouts from government.
What has the Ugandan government done so far?
Nothing apart from posturing that they are fighters, and taking credit for the zero deaths of Ugandans to covid19.

Well, the Ugandan government doesn’t deserve any credit for the fight against covid-19 because they were accomplices in allowing it to spread in the country in the first place when they took long to close Entebbe airport.
The majority of the covid19 cases have all been imported from outside the country –which is a direct primary responsibility of government to deal with incoming persons.
Interestingly, last month some members of parliament passed a motion recognizing president Museveni as hero who has fought and defeated the corona virus! Oh dear! What an irony.
Wonders indeed never cease.
The way forward
There is no justification for the continued lock-down when countries that have lost more people have opened up to normal business.
Open up now. Ugandans are yearning for their right to earn a living!

THE UNRESTRAINED TYRANT ; Ugandans Welcomed Obote’s Appetite For Absolute Power, Stomached Amin’s Reign Of Terror And Have Now Embraced President Museveni’s Fascism

THE UNRESTRAINED TYRANTs ; Ugandans Welcomed Obote’s Appetite For Absolute Power, Stomached Amin’s Reign Of Terror And Have Now Embraced President Museveni’s Fascism

·        Ugandan opposition conspicuously silent AS President Yoweri Museveni unleashes unjustified lock-DOWN on vulnerable population.

In 1966 the then prime minister Apollo Milton Obote took over absolute powers when he managed to arrest and detain five cabinet ministers and removed president Frederick Mutesa from power. He capped it all by abolishing all kingdoms and traditional leaders in the entire country and declared a Republic.  Obote managed to accomplish this unbelievable feat without incurring a single speck of dust on him.

Apart from the mental resource he invested in this project, Obote never lost a single soldier or any resource to achieve his aims. He managed to dominate the political space without shedding a single sweat by simply, changing the constitution and cajoling the members of the hitherto dominant Democratic Party to cross to his UPC party.

By 1969 Obote was the superstar politician on the African continent who was not worried about a military coup.  Obote felt so indispensable, that even Idi Amin, the man who eventualy toppled him from power was himself not anywhere near the standard criteria expected from the coup plotter that he later became.
In his documentary shot by some French journalists in 1975 president Amin bragged that he knew that he would become army commander and eventually president of Uganda.

But reality shows that Amin was simply talking bullshit because he rose to those high positions by playing the sycophant bootlicker to Obote. His poor academic background offered him no chance at all of attaining any higher position in any worthy organization, army or otherwise.
All he had as a claim to fame was his big size which he attained by virtue of having one kidney-which made him to grow huge all the time.
Obote had very low opinion of Amin (his army commander) that he is quoted to have said (when told of a possible plot) that Amin was too foolish to even dream of taking over power.

So when the improbable became the probable and eventually happened in 1971, Obote simply reasoned that the coup was the brain child of the British, coz Amin was just an illiterate buffoon who lacked the brain power to plan and execute a coup.
Obote had naturally come to view Amin as a simple foot soldier with humor as the only weapon for mobilizing troops around him.

NOTORIOUS AMIN
But like they say, the rest is history. Amin with the help of some soldiers managed to unexpectedly kick Obote out of power. For once Ugandans had accidentally been saved from Obote’s political schemes by the comical Gen Idi Amin.
It turned out that Gen Amin himself was to be worse than Obote. Once again Ugandans watched on as Idi Amin turned the country upside down by unleashing terror on the docile Ugandans.
Although Obote was invincible, Amin turned out to be more than indomitable as he did things that no world leader has ever done to date.  Where Obote, for instance jailed the five ministers, president Amin released them , appointed them in ministerial positions and later killed them. A case in point is DP leader Ben Kiwanuka who had been jailed by Obote but was released by Amin in 1971 appointed chief justice and later killed by Amin himself IN 1972.

Amin is the only president in the world to have killed the chief justice of his own government, executed the whole archbishop of the protestant church and a host of ministers and other prominent people and remained firmly in power. This assertion can only be challenged with contrary facts and figures.
Obote’s shenanigans were turned into small jokes by Amin’s terror machine.
Once again, the whole period between 1971-79 was a time when no single Ugandan raised a finger to question AmIn’s actions. Instead Ugandans from Kigezi sub region (mbu reportedly led by a young state attorney called Amama Mbabazi) declared him life president of the republic of Uganda!

(We are still investigating this claim though)
Amin managed to silence all political and military opponents to an extent that no rebel group managed to hold a single piece of Ugandan territory from 1971 to 1979.-masqurader rebel groups like Kikosi Maluum and Fronasa can attest to this.

ACCIDENTAL END OF AMIN
Once again Ugandans were ‘accidentally’ saved from Amin’s grip from power when his forces made a reckless incursion into Tanzanian terror and provoked president Nyerere to launch an onslaught that marked the end of Amin’s reign of terror.
Once again the docile Ugandans had failed to find their way around Amin like they had failed against Obote. Specific history shows that Amin’s fall from power was more of an accident than a deliberate effort by Ugandans.
Like Mao Tsetung once said, ‘the cemetery is full of men who thought they were indispensable’, Obote and Amin are some of those men still grounded in the cemetery at the moment.
This Obote-Amin dominance without challenge  simply projects the true image typical of Ugandans. They are docile, gullible, amiable, vulnerable and unable to resist injustice unless an accidental incident sets in to move events in their favor.
The best they can do is to either pray or curse their oppressors.
Ugandans can be scavengers but only if the prey has been neutralized completely by an anonymous force. They can stomach Obote’s appetite for absolute power, tolerate and even entertain Amin’s reign of terror and embrace Museveni’s fascism.

SEVOS FASCISM SETS IN
With the intolerable crimes committed by Obote and Amin on his mind, Museveni came to power in 1986 with a different strategy. He was not foolish enough to unleash a direct reign of terror in the face of Ugandans, but has managed a sustained fascist government that has left Ugandans craving for another liberation.
His 34 year reign has been characterized by clear malice, glaring tribalism, oppression, abrogation of the constitution, suppression of the fundamental rights of the masses and clear exploitation end even plunder of the national resources.
As things stand, Uganda has quietly descended into a police state with more investment in security agencies to oversee the total suppression of dissenting voices. A lot of things have happened that have exposed Museveni’s fascist tendencies, but have gone unnoticed.
While Museveni has not killed the chief justice or the archbishop of the church of Uganda like Amin, Museveni has attacked bombed the palace of the Omusinga in Kasesse and killed more people than Obote did when he attacked Mengo palace in 1966.
Museveni has abused the constitution that was promulgated during his time in 1995, in the same way Obote abrogated the independence constitution.
Museveni brutality has been more exposed during the covid19 period when he determinedly unleashed harsh restrictions on the population even when there was no single Ugandan death to covid19.

As most of the world is lifting restrictions imposed to contain the corona virus, the Ugandan leadership has instead extended the lock-down period to another 21 days.
There are no pretensions here as to what Museveni intends in all this. His counterpart president of Tanzania john Pombe Magufuli refused to lock-down his country by reasoning that his country cannot afford a lock-down because he has no infrastructure to hold people in self confinement without work.

And indeed in a third world country like Uganda where people are still in subsistence farming and survive day by day, instituting a lock-down is similar to or even worse than what Pol Pot did in Cambodia where an estimated two million people died of starvation , execution or disease in an attempt to impose a communism in his country..

While the western countries enjoy the luxury of a very good welfare state structure that can feed the confined people in their homes, Uganda doesn’t have that super structure.
Even the food which president Museveni promised to be supplied to just two district of Kampala and Wakiso has failed t percolate to every needy person in those respective districts.
While countries like Nigeria have been observant enough to understand their shortcomings and confined the lockdown to three states of Abuja , Lagos and Ogun state , Museveni has unleashed the lock-down to the whole country!
Meanwhile all able bodied Ugandans are holed up in their houses totally subdued with tails behind their legs as Museveni roars like a lion every fortnight wih continuous lock-down extensions.
While Wuhan, where the covid19 started and claimed thousands was opened up in April and allowed business to flow as usual, Museveni has extended the lock-down until June 2020!.
While Germany, Italy, America, Spain which has LOST thousands of people to the corona virus has opened up , Museveni whose Uganda has lost NOT single person is still insisting on the lockdown until June.

THE WAY FORWARD
Since it’s the tradition of this blogger to always propagate the way forward, the current circumstances simply dictate president Museven still has a chance to redeem himself since he still holds the reign of power.
He might be invincible, untouchable or indomitable now, but he should remember great Chinese leader’s Mao s saying that the ‘’cemetery is full of men who thought that they were indispensable’’.
The Ugandan opposition has failed to come up and raise these issues leaving the common Ugandan in absolute despair.  As stated earlier Ugandans will not rise up to remove Museveni because they don’t have those guts. Only an accidental occurrence or fate will take care of that.

Uganda Still has 40 More Days Under Lock-down; The Idiots At The World Health Organization Designed a 90 Day lock-down Period- Without Considering the fact that Covid-19 might Even Stay Forever

Uganda Still has 40 More Days Under Lock-down; The Idiots At The World Health Organization Designed a 90 Day lock-down Period- Without Considering the fact that Covid-19 might Even Stay Forever

This week the British broadcasting service revealed that officials at the world health organization had come to terms with the fact that there is a likelihood that the covid-19 might terrorize the world for the long term rather than the short term period they had anticipated.
They also came up with the sad reality that the vaccine might not be found as soon as they had thought. Their initial projection for discovering the covid-19 vaccine was 18 months, which makes it October 2021.

There are rumors that the world health organisation put the standard period of the lock-down at 90 days.  But governments were sacred of imposing three direct months and opted the use of 14 and 22 days extensions until the 90 day ultimatum is met.

As for Uganda , which has done 50 days under lock-down it still has 40 days to go.
So you should expect president Museveni , who is a big disciple of the world health organisation to announce another 22 day extension when the current one expires on Tuesday .

Some of us who have been totally opposed to complete shutdown of the world economy wrote blogs questioning the wisdom of enforcing complete lock-downs around the world. We were convinced that although the virus was deadly and very contagious, it could be contained the same way we have contained other deadly pandemics.
But the sad reality is that some officials of the world health organization have continued to scare the world of another round of covid19. They were openly against relaxing the restrictions and are still advising governments not to open up their economies.
With their continued suggestion of continuing to enforce the lock-down, they are oblivious of other grave issues concerning food insecurity and sustainability of life that will arise under the lock-down circumstances.
Any right thinking human being should question the idea of entertaining a redundant population.  For how long can people survive without work?

It’s obvious that most of the third world countries lack what it takes to enforce complete lock-down by virtue of the fact that they have large percentages of the population living subsistently and their governments don’t have the welfare structures to feed a redundant population.
The developed countries have a super structure which can support the welfare of their citizens even in the long-run, the third world can only imitate.
The governments of the third world have no means of keeping people in self isolation and out of work because they have no capacity to feed them.

What if the vaccine is not found?

The fundamental question that should be posed to WHO is that ‘what if the vaccine is not found, shall we continue with the lock-down option forever?’
Another conundrum which the world health organization failed to resolve was the period the lock-down was supposed to be used as a tool for fighting the corona virus. Was it six months, a year or eternity?

When you tell the world leaders to shutdown their economies, do you envisage a solution during that lock-down? Do you expect no infections or deaths during that period?
Do you expect to find the vaccine during the shutdown period?
What do you (WHO) have to say about the rise in the number of infections and deaths in countries under complete lock-down?
Spain, Italy, Germany, United States and Russia have lost quite a big number of people when under complete lock-down and opted to open up.
They realized that the lock-down never stopped infections and deaths.
They have also realized that they can contain the corona virus without a lock-down by merely observing regulations. They have realized that the lock-down is a waste of time.
British premier Boris Johnson even changed the slogan from ‘stay at home’ to ‘stay alert’.
This means that the idiots at the world health organization who came up with ideas of shutdowns were out of their minds. They never did their homework.
They haphazardly came up with shoddy ideas and imposed them on the world without thinking about the related consequences.

THE REALITY
The reality is that we should and can live side by side with the corona virus without using lock-down option for fighting it.
This projection is based on the fact that the world health organization and the rest of the science community don’t seem to know the real workings of the covid19.
All that has happened so far in regard to the people who have perished to COVID19 would have happened with or without self isolation.
When the corona virus struck, the Americans and people in the civilized world followed the set-out health procedures that would have saved their lives, but they still perished!
Do you mean that those Americans, Italians, the Spanish and other people of the world who have perished were not washing their hands, sanitizing, and not under self isolation?
The recent surge in deaths in Russia for instance has mostly come in April when the world was aware of the measures that can be taken to stop or avert the virus.
Now what explains the massive deaths that have rocked Russia which has been under strict lock-down?

What do we deduce from this?
The truth is that covid19 can strike any time anywhere with or without the observation of strict measures.
Current experience shows that people can survive without restrictions and survive covid19.
For instance, in Wuhan, where the virus was first known to originate, they opened up a month ago, but they have not suffered the same number of fatalities that they suffered when they were under a complete lock-down.
The same case applies t the case of Germany, Denmark, and Sweden where the authorities have relaxed the restrictions to the extent of allowing school children to get back to school.
At the same time there is a confusing element that has occurred in countries that never imposed lock-downs and at first never had fatalities and then later on have surged in the number of infections and deaths.
Countries like Brazil and Tanzania where the leadership resisted the lock-down have experienced quite a number of fatalities.
These are being used as case studies by the pro-lock-down elements to justify continued restrictions. They are accusing president Brosonari and president Magufuli of intransigence.
But let’s look at the reality.
Russia and Turkey have, for a long while, been under lock-down but it has NOT stopped them from incurring a large number of deaths to covid19.
What mistakes have the Turks and Russians committed to justify the surge in infection numbers?
Which explanations do you give for such contrasting scenario?
While you can accuse Tanzania and Brazil authorities of negligence, what do you have to say about Turkey, Russia and those countries that have observed all covid19 prevention measures but continued to suffer fatalities?

If you answer those questions objectively, you will certainly have the right to apportion blame.
If you cannot answer that question, but continue to apportion blame, then you will have lost the plot, just like the WHO officials who were caught off guard and failed to admit that they had scanty information about the corona virus.
The reason why the officials of the world health organization are regarded as complete idiots stems from the fact that they don’t know how people are recovering when there is no known vaccine.

The statistics
As you read this, there are 4.56 million people have been infected with covid19, over 1.65 million people who have already recovered from the covid19 while 308K people have perished.
What explains why a large number of people have recovered compared to those who have died?   The obvious fact is that NOBODY knows why others are dying, while others are recovering from the corona virus.

Another view is that nobody knows why some countries are losing very many people while others are not experiencing any fatalities at all.
The obvious truth is that we should agree to live side by side with covid19 by individually observing some of the regulations. The theme by Boris Johnson of ‘STAYING ALERT’ is the most appropriate option to take, rather than the suicidal lock-down option.

As time goes by the world health organization will be exposed as the most idiotic the world has ever known.  I have a very strong feeling that one day they will regret most of what they have done in regard to the fight against the corona virus.

As they stagger to find the vaccine , they haven't even put into consideration the fact that even if the vaccine is found , it will take very many years to be evenly distributed around the world.

THE WAY FORWARD
The world health organisation should prepare for the fact that covid-19 might live with us for the longer term. this means that we should prepare to live with it by observing clear cut self-help health measures that can prevent it from spreading very fast.
we should also take into account that getting infected with the corona virus is not a death sentence-some people will certainly get infected but will not die.
This means The world can live normally with it.

SMART STRATEGY; How China With The Aid Of The World Health Organization Conspired To Bring Down The World Economy And The Gullible Fools Fell For The Trap

president Trump eventually succumbed and locked the American economy albeit halfheartedly.
This is a story (about the role of china and WHO in the spread of Covid-19) that you might have reads or heard about already but it is worth repeating to understand the dynamics behind the corona virus pandemic and its ramifications. You will understand the direct implications, the heroes and villains, the opportunists and the gullible parties in this covid19 chess game after revisiting this story.
In November 2019, a Chinese doctor Dr Li Wenliang noticed a strange flu that was killing people in Chinese city of Wuhan. He told his colleagues to wear protective gear because the flu was extremely contagious.  He shared the message in his what-sup group and it went viral.

CHINESE strategy
When the Chinese authorities’ learnt about it, they summoned him, reprimanded him for alarming the country, forced him to apologize and henceforth withdraw his statements.
Dr Lee complied accordingly and went back to work. In December the virus was getting out of hand spreading beyond Wuhan, to Beijing, Guangzhou and other Chinese cities.
The Chinese authorities felt embarrassed to speak out about the virus and they henceforth made it a criminal offense for anyone to speak about it without direct authorization.  The Chinese government felt that speaking out about the virus would lead to its global isolation, its image would be globally destroyed and its territory would be written off as a NO-GO area.
So they had a good reason to cover up the corona virus until it spread the entire globe.
It is strongly believed that the world health organization had, by that time, already come to know about the emergence of covid19 but was caught in a diplomatic dilemma.  The WHO officials feared that speaking out about the virus erupting in china would anger the Chinese government.

The WHO therefore chose to play safe by keeping quiet until January 30th 2020 when they realized that it was becoming global pandemic. By that time the Chinese government had achieved its objective of making the covid-19 a global pandemic and not a china pandemic.
meanwhile Dr Lee succumbed and died to corona virus in February 2020
Dr Lee who whistle blew about covid19 succumbed and died to corona virus in February 2020
That practically explains why there was a delay between the time it broke out in November 2019 to the time it became globally known in mid march. That is a very long time of around 120 days when the WHO sent a memo to all ministers of health in all countries of the world alerting them about the emergence of covid19 pandemic.

Now the guidelines that WHO sent to the ministers of health give an insight as to why china initially refused to pronounce themselves as having the covid-19 in the country..
The Chinese knew that health experts would recommend locking the economy as one of the requirements to stop the spread of the pandemic. It meant that they would economically suffer as an individual country.
But they also knew that once the pandemics becomes a global affair , the rest of the world will have to lock down their economies as well, including , you guessed right , their global economic rival , America.

Tricking America Into The Trap
Now the implications of locking down are embarrassing. The Chinese, had calculated that stubborn American president Donald trump MIGHT not fall for the trick and reject the lock-down.
But they also knew that once so many people die of the virus, it will force him to enforce the lock-down, regardless of whether he liked or NOT.

The latter is exactly what happened, president Trump eventually succumbed and locked the American economy albeit halfheartedly.
The embarrassing aspect in all this is that when the lock-down was enforced, more Americans continued to perish in their thousands. At one time 959 died in 24 hours in America alone!
It was terrible state of affairs.
The POTUS (president of the United States) was put in an awkward situation where he couldn’t under rate the covid19 virus. Yet he could also see the uselessness of the guild lines associated with stopping it from spreading.

Deep down POTUS knew that some of the guidelines from the WHO were nonsensical but couldn’t oppose them because of the high number of people who were perishing.
At one time he opposed the idea of wearing the masks, which had been made mandatory by the health officials. On several occasions, he opposed the complete lock-down reasoning that people needed to get back to work but seemed to lack enough backing to enforce it.

By hindsight you can say that President Trump should have reasoned that the lockdown had failed to stop the people from dying and gone on to order the lessening of restrictions.  But he was surrounded by health experts who couldn’t let him do that.
The governors were also telling him that he had NO such powers to do that without the consent of the congress, and all that.
Nevertheless, despite of the naysayers, president Trump went onto HIS Twitter account and incited Americans to protest the lock-down.

Trump was now waking up. He started having battles with state governors who had insisted on strict restrictions. It was game on. He seems to have realized the role china and WHO had played in the whole fracas of misleading him to bankrupt his economy.
He henceforth stopped the $400m funding to the world health organization and continued to condemn china for plotting the emergence of the pandemic.

Meanwhile the Chinese city of Wuhan city which had been the source of the virus had already opened up and loosened the restrictions in mid April 2020 complete with a medical facility that could hold thousands of covid-19 patients.

South Korea which shares boundaries with china had already smelt the coffee and learnt of the Chinese plot and opened up public transport, the metros and other businesses by early April 2020. They had known that they COULD contain covid19 WITHOUT enforcing a lock-down.

THE GULLIBLE LEADERS
Meanwhile the gullible leaders in some parts of the world were still insisting on complete lock-downs.
And the incentives for enforcing the lock-down for these poor countries were that the United Nations would eventually compensate for the lost monies with a very big cash incentive from the World Bank.
The second incentive to countries that would embark on the lock-down was that their debts would be written off completely.
Therefore most of them rushed to shutdown their economies even when they had not suffered a single fatality to covid-19.
Countries like Uganda which had NOT even registered a single case of covid19 death embarked on lockdown even before they could close the airport and the borders.
The best advice was to embark on testing at all airports and borders because the local Ugandans NEVER had this corona virus. But the Ugandan government embarked on the lockdown and left Entebbe airport open which allowed the number of covid19 cases to grow from zero to 79 in two months.
This was enough reason for Ugandan to consider itself a country that was involved in the fight against covid19
THE WISE LEADERS REJECT LOCKDOWN
Meanwhile some NOT-SO gullible leaders refused to heed the advice. Leaders like Brazilian president Joao Brosonaro flatly rejected the idea of the lockdown and dismissed the virus as a mere flu. The Brazilian minister of health who had received the memo from the world health organization went on to order the restrictions and other social distancing rules but he was over ruled and eventually sacked by president Brosonaro.
The Brazilian leader was so brave in his defiance that he openly violated the social distancing rules by associating openly with people in the market. He seemed to smell the conspiracy of destroying the economy and rejected it.

Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega also adopted the same stance and refused to subject his country to a lock-down insisting that the lock-down will kill more people than the virus itself.
Belarus also rejected the             WHO guidelines and even allowed the football league to continue. Sweden and Denmark simply allowed to some few restrictions and rejected the idea of a complete lock-down.

The interesting bit is that most countries that quickly adopted the lock-down have since lost more people than those countries that rejected the lock-down.
For instance by 3rd may 2020 Russia recorded over 10,000 covid-19 cases in just 24 hours  even when it was in a complete lock-down.
Having noticed the futility of embarking on a complete lock-down Germany chancellor Angela Markel ordered the loosening of the restrictions by 5th may 2020.
Countries that have been hard hit like Spain and Italy are also opening up after realizing that lock-down or no lock-down, the virus can strike.

Facts, figures and the reality
According to the figures the covid19 epidemic has so far affected 212 counties and has claimed 245,243 people all over the world. This is just a simple fraction of the global population of six billion
Over 1,130,122 infected people have recovered   since it broke out in November last year which means that covid-19 is containable.
If over a million people have recovered from the covid19 virus even when there is NO vaccine, then it is not as bad as it is being projected.
Do these figures really justify the closure of the global economy?
The answer is certainly NOT in the affirmative.

When you lock the economy, you lock the entire livelihood of humanity.
Wars have claimed more people than the corona virus. The Rwanda genocide claimed over 800,000 people. The Ugandan bush war claimed over 0.8m people.

There are worse epidemics that have claimed more people than this covid19.
Practical evidence continues to show that the corona virus has not reached anywhere near the number of fatalities by other epidemics that include aids which claimed over 32 million people according to figures from WHO.

The Conclusion
Now if countries can sacrifice their economies to avert a virus which is containable, then something is wrong with mankind.
Someone very intelligent person must have come up with a very smart conspiracy to bankrupt the world. And that person belongs within the strategic setup of the Chinese government.
The idiots and fools who fell for the conspiracy theory of the Chinese must be ashamed of themselves. After the passing of time some leaders who have suppressed their people because of covid-19 will become a public nuisance.
The opportunistic leaders who enforced complete lockdown to get money from the World Bank and get their debts written off will also be exposed when no one dies from corona virus from their respective countries.
I rest my case with a potential risk of being misunderstood.

THE COLLAPSE OF AN ORATOR ?; The Ugandan President Should Hire The Services Of A Speech Writer

THE COLLAPSE OF AN ORATOR ?; The Ugandan President Should Hire The Services Of A Speech Writer AS Soon As Possible

Those who have listened to President Yoweri Museveni in the last 34 years will tell you that he can be a captivating speaker with a wealth of idioms and folk stories which he uses during his speeches.
He is one man who can employ common sense to practical issues and convince his audience with practical solutions to issues that look very complicated in a very simplistic manner. He is rich in history , humor and enjoys an abundance of knowledge about so many things.

For a long time, most Ugandans have looked forward to his speeches because there are so many points of reference to pick from his speeches.  He was the man to watch and his speeches were captivating.  The only problem was his occasional stammering. But it was bearable given the good message he would give the audience.

THE COLLAPSE OF AN ORATOR
But of recent there has been a change in the speaking abilities of the Ugandan president. His speaking powers have systematically deteriorated with the passing of time.
There is an obvious lack of research in what the president speaks. He seems to have suffered from intellectual inertia. He either takes the audience for granted or doesn’t have the assistance he needs to address the country.
His tendency to repeat what he says in his speeches is very embarrassing. His advisors may not tell him or advise him about this, but the truth is that he needs to be assisted.
In the last one month, the Ugandan president has addressed the country 23 times, (the 22 of those speeches have been about covid19), while the latest made on 1st may was about the Labor Day.

In the most recent speeches, he has repeated himself so much that all his speeches are identical.
In his Labor Day speech, he talked about increasing pay for the scientists, a point he has labored to make for the last ten years.  His reference to Shakespeare not being able t deal with the Owen falls dam was a joke he made during his 22nd speech repeated again in his Labor Day speech.
He also made reference to the economic growth rate of 1994 in his previous speech and repeated it again on Labor Day.

Now this is not t suggest that the president lacks what to say. There are lots and lots of issues he needs to talk about without repeating himself.  The country has got a lot going on that you can spend the whole year speaking about a different issue in every speech.
WHAT WAS EXPECTED?

In his Labor Day speech Ugandans expected to hear figures in the labor market, which sector has employed more Ugandans which one has declined etc.

He should have briefed the country about the labor we export to Dubai and other places and the fate of those Ugandans especially in china where they are faced with xenophobia. But he instead meandered back to his previous speech.

THE TRENDS

Although African leaders don’t need to be orators to ascend to the highest office, they need to have some ability to articulate issues on a daily basis.
Evidence shows that most African leaders are very poor orators. Most of them speak slowly in a big voice of an elderly person to command respect from the audience.

Former Kenyan president Daniel Arap Moi was so poor, you would slumber when he showed up on the television to speak. Another Former Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki was even worse, for he spoke like someone was about t die.
Kenyans are unlucky that even current president Uhuru Kenyatta is as poor an orator as his predecessors.

But former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin lacked the intellectual power to captivate his audience but he was comical enough to make an interesting speech, notwithstanding the poor content of his message.

To-date there are things Amin spoke that Ugandans recite 40 years after the fall of his regime.  Illiterate as he was, he had the talents to captivate the audience with unbelievable humour.
On the other hand Tanzanian iconic president Mwalimu Julius Nyerere was a superb orator who would turn the audience into a class with some pedestrian intellect.  Mwalimu Nyerere was an entertainer with the ability to explain serious issues in a very comical way.

Leaders like Apollo Milton Obote , Kwame Nkrumah , Patrick Lumumba were natural orators with the ability to captivate the audience from the western countries mostly  because they were conditioned to lead African countries with the style of the western civilization.
In more developed democracies, the first quality that someone needs to ascend the highest office in the land is his oratory abilities. People like former American president Barrack Obama became a worldwide brand because of his oratory skills.

THE GUN EFFECT
But when you look at leaders who emerged through the barrel of the gun, you will find a terrible lack of oratory form them. Col Muamar Ghadafi, for instance, used to speak very slowly about nonsensical issues.  He never cared about what the audience thought of his speeches. the late Libyan leader was a total mess.

The late Col Ghadafi had no flair, no content, no substance in his speeches. It was obvious that he had no speech writer to guide him on what to say, even to audiences as big as the United Nations.
I think the same ‘poor speech virus’ has attacked president Museveni. In most cases he seems to enjoy the idea of having an audience to convene speeches, but appears not to have anything new to say.

He simply gathers facts from his previous speeches and gets on with it. I will never forget the day Museveni embarrassed Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu by praising the role he played in supporting the Palestinians. He was obviously speaking revolutionary stuff but to the wrong man. Museveni was oblivious of the fact that Israel considers the PLO to be a terrorist organization.

The way forward
The Ugandan president obviously needs the services of a speech writer.
The speech writer will save the president from making strategic errors in speech like he made to Benjamin Netanyahu.  Employing the services of a speech writer doesn’t mean that you are dull or intellectually inept. It simply means that you respect the principal of division of labor.
It also saves you from repeating yourself or giving speeches considered to be monotonous to the audiences. The speech writer can research about a given subject matter and equip you with historical perspectives together with the current trends of what you have to speak about.
